What video formats can I convert to GIF?+
You can convert MP4, MOV, WebM, and AVI files to GIF. Most common video formats from phones, cameras, and screen recorders are supported.
Is there a file size or duration limit?+
The tool supports videos up to 100 MB. GIF duration is capped at 30 seconds to keep output file sizes manageable. For longer clips, trim your video first or use a shorter duration.
How can I reduce the GIF file size?+
Use a lower FPS (5-10), smaller width (320px), shorter duration, or the Smallest File quality preset. These settings significantly reduce output size while keeping the animation smooth.
Why does the GIF look better with High Quality?+
The High Quality and Balanced presets use a two-pass process: first generating an optimal color palette from your video, then applying it with advanced dithering. This produces smoother gradients and more accurate colors.
Is my video uploaded to a server?+
No. Your video is processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. No data is sent to any server. The first use requires downloading the conversion engine (~30 MB), which is cached for future use.
