How do I set start and end times?+
Enter times in MM:SS format (e.g. 1:30 for one minute thirty seconds) or as plain seconds (e.g. 90). The trimmer will extract everything between your start and end points.
Is there a file size limit?+
The tool supports videos up to 500 MB. Since processing happens in your browser, larger files depend on your device's available memory. Most modern devices handle this well.
Does trimming reduce video quality?+
For MP4 files, the trimmer uses stream copy which preserves the original quality exactly — no re-encoding occurs. For other formats like MOV or WebM, the video is re-encoded to MP4 with high quality settings.
What format is the output?+
All trimmed videos are output as MP4. MP4 input files are stream-copied with no quality loss. Other formats are re-encoded with H.264 video and AAC audio for universal compatibility.
Is my video uploaded to a server?+
No. Your video is processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. No data is sent to any server. This is also why the first use requires downloading the trim engine (~30 MB), which is cached for future use.
