How does image compression work without uploading?+
PixPipe uses browser-native JavaScript APIs and WebAssembly to compress images directly on your device. The entire compression algorithm runs in your browser tab — no data is ever sent to a server.
Is this really private? How can I verify?+
Open your browser DevTools (F12) and check the Network tab while compressing. You will see zero outgoing requests containing image data. The tool is fully client-side.
Can I use this offline?+
Yes. Once the page has loaded, you can disconnect from the internet and the compressor will continue to work. All processing happens locally on your device.
Is this compliant with GDPR and HIPAA?+
Since no data ever leaves your device, there is no data processing on our end. This makes PixPipe inherently compliant with privacy regulations like GDPR. For HIPAA, consult your compliance officer, but no PHI is transmitted.
